COMPETITION RULES

HOW TO ENTER THE C-TRIBE MUSIC COMPETITION (the “Competition”)

By completing an application the named individual is thereby considered an Entrant in the Competition.


By entering the Competition, entrants and/or their parents or legal guardian (if such entrant is a minor) agree to accept and be bound by the decisions of the Company and its judges which are final and binding in all matters. By entering the Competition, entrant agrees to be bound by all terms of these official Competition Rules And Regulations (the “Rules”) as established herein.

DEADLINE & ENTRY FEE: 

  • Deadline to sign-up  – September 1st, 2021
  • Entrants participate for Free
  • C-Tribe Festival (the “Company”) reserves the right to extend the entry deadline with an increased entry fee. The Company also reserves the right to offer special promotions during and after the entry deadline.

VOTING

  • Unique social media accounts can vote a maximum of three (3) times per day by commenting the number assigned to the respective artist. Unique social media accounts must be following C-Tribe x Music on Instagram. All votes that occur at 11:59 PM on the day of the deadline will be tallied up. The Company reserves the right to use their discretion to unqualified votes from bots, spam votes, votes from fake accounts,  or any votes deemed unfavourable to the fairness of the Competition.


PRIZES

  • 1st Place – $500 from the Company, a custom NFT art piece available for purchase on the sanctioned marketplace, a gift box, introduction to 1-3 mentors, additional prizes from our sponsors (to be determined)
  • 2nd – 5th Place – $100 per winner, a gift box, introduction to 1-3 mentors, additional prizes from our sponsors (to be determined)
  • There will be no transfer and substitution of prizes except as necessary due to availability in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. All winners agree to release the Company, its affiliates, employees, partners, stakeholders, and sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. All Federal, Provincial, and local taxes, and customs fees, when applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Company will not pay any winners’ taxes or custom’s fees. Prizes will be sent out within a reasonable amount of time, and the Company will use its best efforts to send prizes out in a timely fashion. Prizes which are being sent to winners from Sponsors may take longer than prizes sent directly from the Company. If after 180 days of winners being announced, any winner has not received any portion of prizes, it is the winner’s responsibility to notify the Company in writing within 30 days, and by certified mail, as to which prizes are outstanding. If the winner fails to notify the Company, the Company will no longer be responsible for delivery of prizes.
  • All prizes will be awarded to the Entrants in the Competition. The entrant listed on the entry form will be the point of contact with the Company and will be responsible for the division of prizes among the Entrants.

SUBMISSIONS

  • Entrants must produce a verse and submit it by an mp4/or MOV file (the “Submission File”) each round of the Competition by 11:59 PM MST on the day of the deadline.
  • Entrant may submit one verse no longer than one (1) minute in duration for every Competition round they are eligible to participate in. Entrant may also enter the same verse in more than one round. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that the submitted verse is complete and playable. All entry fees are non-refundable. The Company does not give feedback or a critique to Entrants.
  • If the duration of the Submission File is longer than one minute, the Company’s listening committee reserves the right to disqualify the Entrant or use their discretion to modify the submission without providing any notice.
  • Entry materials submitted will not be returned to the Entrant. The Company is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, incomplete, or misappropriated entries.

OWNERSHIP

  • Entrant retains all ownership rights to all original song(s) and the Company will not have any ownership rights to any song(s) submitted.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The Competition is open to all artists who are not signed or who are signed to a major label record company and/or its affiliates or subsidiaries (indie label artists are eligible). The Competition is open to anyone regardless of nationality or origin. Employees of the Company, its families, subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible. If an Entrant is under 18 years old as of the last day of the competition year, the signature of a parent or guardian is required or if by entering online, it is agreed that the parents or legal guardian legally allow the submission and are bound by all rules of the competition.
  • Entries are screened by the Company’s listening committee before being shared online for voting. The Company reserves the right to disallow Entrants from participating at any point before or during the Competition. The Entrants that make it to the next stage will be voted on the sanctioned social media platform(s). The finalists are sent to the judges who select the winners. The judges consist of high profile music industry professionals including celebrity artists and music journalists.
  • Winners will be announced by November 13th, 2021 during the Main Stage Performances at the C-Tribe Music Festival. The Company will post all results on its website and will notify entrants by email that results are posted. Entrant is responsible for providing up-to-date and correct email addresses to the Company. The Company is not responsible for entrant’s non-receipt of any Company emails for any reason, including but not limited to, server or email malfunctions. The Company will use its best efforts to announce the winners at the designated time but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays. Winners will be notified by email or phone. Entry constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, likeness, and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.

MENTORS

  • A minimum of three mentors will be selected and put in direct contact with the winner via email, video conferencing, or telephone. The method of contact may vary from mentor to mentor, depending on scheduling. The Company cannot guarantee a particular mentor’s availability, so the group of mentors includes more than five individuals in order to accommodate any unforeseen changes in labels, personnel, or other circumstances preventing a mentor from participation. Mentoring must be completed by the end of the calendar year of the competition unless a mentor’s schedule does not permit.

LIMITED LIABILITY

  • By entering this Competition, each Entrant, or in the case of a Minor, their parent or legal guardian on their behalf, acknowledges compliance with, and agrees to be bound by, these Competition Rules and consents to the use of their name, city of residence, and/or likeness in any publicity carried out by Releasees, and/or their advertising and promotional agencies and agents without further notice or compensation. Entrants release and hold harmless the Company from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the Entrants or their administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the Entrant’s participation in the Competition and/or in connection with the acceptance, use and/or misuse by the Entrant of the Prize.
  • The Company, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, employees, administrators, stakeholders or employees shall be responsible for or bear any liability for: (i) late-received, lost, unintelligible/illegible, incomplete, or misdirected registrations, entries or Competition scores; (ii) entries or votes which fail to comply with the Competition Rules; (iii) any technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Competition, including any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, all of which may affect an Players ability to participate in the Competition, or the ability of the Administrator to receive and/or record and Entrants score; (iv) any unauthorized human and/or mechanical intervention in any part of the entry process of the Competition; and (v) any act of God that disrupts all or part of the Competition.
  • As a condition of participating in this Competition, Entrant agrees that (i) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, (ii) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Competition, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and (iii) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but shall in no event include attorney’s fees. Void if prohibited by law.
  • Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Competition is a violation of the Competition Rules and criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Company reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entrants agree to abide by the Competition Rules.
  • The Company reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant who violates the Code of Conduct or tampers with the entry process, and/or void any Competition results submitted fraudulently. Should multiple participants of the same email account enter the Competition and a dispute thereafter arise regarding the identity of the Entrant, the authorized account holder of said e-mail account at the time of entry will be considered the Entrant. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization which is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If, for any reason, the Competition is affected by any computer virus, worm, bug, tampering, hacking, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or other cause which, in the sole opinion of the Company, corrupts or otherwise affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Company may, in their sole discretion, cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition, and determine winners from the Competition already received or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by the Company.

COMPETITION TERMINATION

  • The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Competition, in whole or in part, and/or to modify, amend or suspend the Competition, and/or to the Competition Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice. Any changes will be made available on music.ctribefestival.com.
  • Entrant agrees to release, indemnify, and hold the Company, its sponsors, affiliates, stakeholders, and judges harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, participation in the Competition.

PUBLICITY RELEASE

  • The Competition may be filmed for entertainment and the Submissions may be used for promotional purposes. Photographs and video footage may be taken and/or re-shared during before or after the Competition. By participating in the Competition, each Entrant grants the Company, its affiliates, sponsors, partners, and stakeholders with the right to use: (i) their name, email address, mailing address, social media handles, telephone number and other personal information provided during their registration in the Competition and any data collected while the Entrant is participating in the Competition, for the purpose of administering the Competition, including but not limited to contacting and announcing the Winners; and (ii) their name, city and province or state of residence, video footage, images, voice recording, comments and opinions for entertainment, publicity and promotional purposes relating to the Competition, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. 

JURISDICTION

  • This Competition is governed by the internal laws of the Province of Alberta without regard to principles of conflict of laws. All cases and claims pertaining to this competition must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the Province of Alberta without recourse to class action suits.
  • If any provision of these Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction or appointed arbitrator, such determination shall in no way affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision herein.
